Here you can find current government calls for evidence (consultations), plus questions and responses from MPs, councils and other bodies on issues affecting local businesses.
Individual businesses should contact only the MP for their area. The Chamber can only raise issues affecting multiple businesses.
Have Your Say
We offer the opportunity for businesses to be listed on our Policy Press List. These are companies that would be willing to speak to the press, Shropshire Chamber or British Chambers of Commerce should a subject or request arise that would suit your business. This is an invitation and any approach for a comment can of course be refused at anytime. These requests are spasmodic, and so it is unlikely you will be contacted often. The list is not used for membership activities; it is to help give businesses a voice. If you want a regular voice then please ensure you take the opportunity to complete the Quarterly Economic Survey (QES). Click to learn about the QES. This confidential survey can be completed anonymously or not, to suit.
This Policy Press List or QES is only open to businesses of any size or sector, who have a base, even if only a branch or sub office, within either Telford & Wrekin or Shropshire.

MP Roundtables - 2025 Summary
This year, we successfully hosted eight MP roundtables covering key topics such as employment and skills, retail, hospitality, and international trade.
Each session, held under Chatham House rules, was well attended and provided valuable insights into the challenges facing our business community. Common themes included support for SMEs, skills shortages and workforce development, education and inclusion, regulatory and policy barriers, cost pressures, technological change, wellbeing, and local infrastructure.
These roundtables have brought together like-minded businesses and key stakeholders, fostering open dialogue and encouraging collaboration to address shared concerns.
We’re pleased to report that all participating MPs have been highly engaged and receptive. Each has taken away clear action points to raise in Parliament, ensuring the voices of our local businesses are heard at a national level.
We aim to continue these vital roundtables with another 2 full rounds planned for 2026.
