CHAMBER BOSS PRAISES COMPANY’S ‘FORWARD THINKING’ ON THE ENVIRONMENT

Tuesday, 27th July 2010
A Telford business has been praised for its ‘forward thinking’ on environmental issues.

Chrisbeon Office Supplies, one of Shropshire’s leading office furniture and stationery specialists, has been awarded the ISO14001 accreditation which is a prestigious environmental standard.

Presenting the member company with their certificate, Richard Sheehan, managing director of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce & Enterprise, said it was good to see a ‘forward thinking Shropshire business’ advancing and focusing on the environment.

“Achieving this environmental standard will definitely assist with business opportunities as companies become more aware of their obligations,” said Mr. Sheehan.

“It is great to see one of the local companies taking the lead and congratulations are very much in order,” he added.

Richard Hughes, partner of Chrisbeon Office Supplies, of Stafford Park 4, Telford, said the company took environmental issues ‘very seriously’.

“Our leading suppliers have gone along the IS014001 accreditation route and, as an important link in the chain, we considered it to be important that we filled a gap.

“We want to appeal to local businesses both in the private and public sector and demonstrate that we are taking environmental procedures very seriously.”

He added that Chrisbeon Office Supplies had also gained IS09001 which was the business standard accreditation.  Their ISO9001 certificate was also presented by Mr. Sheehan at the Chamber’s Stafford Park offices.

Both certificates are for the provision of business supplies, including installation of furniture, for the public sector and commercial organisations.
